It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is nearly upon us! Millions upon millions of kitchens across America are thawing out turkeys that could feed small armies and checking off last-minute-to-do’s off lists tacked to their refrigerator door.
Everyone seems to have their ‘must haves’. The crazy uncle who must have the canned cranberry sauce that leaves the cylindrical ring indentations that no one seems to like but him, dressing recipes that will get chewed ten times over before deciding on the must have one begging the question– To stuff the turkey or not to stuff? But one of the most beloved and anticipated parts of Thanksgiving are the desserts, more precisely– the pies!
Take this one for example. I really enjoyed making this because it was a technique I’d never tried, but that really gives it a lot more umph! Unlike dumping a cup of chocolate chips as the filling that get semi melted, this dark cocoa mix is devilishly rich and well mixed into the other ingredients that go along for the ride to help support this chocolately delight. A fudgey-nutty-sticky-lip-smacking-piece-of-heaven-on-a-plate!
It must be said that this is very very very rich! Supremely, seductively, over-the-top, and clog your arteries rich. But, it’s the holidays and we need desserts like this, right? Right! This would be perfect for any Fall or Winter gathering and is sure to please! Enjoy and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
